The Ulink buses are white and red and some say Wessex Connect

In September 2007 UWE launched its own bus service called Ulink to connect its campuses in Frenchay, Bower Aston, St Matthias and Glenside with each other and the City Centre. Initially it was only for students but In February 2008 it was opened to the general public.

The buses go from the Frenchay campus to Bristol city centre via different routes going through various residential areas of north and central Bristol. The U1 service goes beyond the centre and on to the Bower Ashton campus.

That covers quite a lot of Bristol, so you may find one or more of these routes could be useful. Isn't it time you tried one?

The Fares

The fares are pretty simple. A single allows you to go from any stop to any other stop on a single bus and costs £1.50 for an adult and £1.00 for a child.

Instead of a return there is a "dayrider" ticket which allows you to use any of the Ulink buses all day on the day of purchase. These cost £2.50 for an adult and £1.50 for a child.

If that was not already a big enough bargain, anyone can buy a monthly adult pass for £39 and a child pass for £28 pass. These are available from McColls Newsagents located in what used to be known as The Galleries but is now called The Mall Bristol (2nd Floor, The Mall Bristol, BS1 3XD).

Students only may also purchase annual and 3-term passes.
