Managing your account settings

You can register on the site and can then sign in when using the site. Being signed in allows you to protect your browsing "history" and "my stuff" lists from deletion and can also access them from any browser or computer by signing in.

When signed in the site can fill in your name and email address on forms that require this information.

Some map layers which allow visitors to add new markers will allow visitors to edit the markers that they created but only when signed in.

The "sign in" command in the top right hand corner of the page opens a dialog that allows you to sign in, register or request help if you have forgotten your password.

Account maintenance

When you have registered you can set the following in your account:

what can be sent to your email address
the name of the account
change your registered email address
change your password
delete your account

To perform any of these three actions you need to sign in. Once you have signed in you can click the "my stuff" icon in the side bar and then click the "account" icon in that section. You can also get to the account page of the side bar by clicking the name in parantheses in the top right corner of the page next to the sign in/sign out link.

Deleting your account

If you want to delete you account you simply sign in and go to the account page within the "my stuff" tab of the side bar. Click the Delete Account button and you will be given one warning. If you accept this warning your account and all information contained in it will be deleted immediately.

There is no way to restore a deleted account or any of the information that was in it. However you are free to register again using the same email address at a later date if you wish.
