How to email a marker to someone

Every marker information window has an "email" link which allows you to email that marker to yourself or someone else.

Emailing a marker is useful because the message contains information about the marker and a link back to the marker on the site. This even works with the temporary markers that are created when you click an open area of the map.

You can email markers to yourself as reminders or as a way of keeping notes about things you have found on the map and want to be able to get back to them quickly.

It is also a convenient way of showing someone where something is. For instance if you are arranging to meet someone somewhere, you can create a marker at that location and then email it to them. They receive your message and can use the link to go to the map and see where the marker was.

When you click the email link in a marker window, it changes the window content into a form. You must fill in your name (so the recipient knows it is from you and not someone sending spam) and your email address so that if they reply to the message it goes back to you and not back to bristolstreets.

You can enter up to ten recipients by putting the addresses on separate lines. But you always get a copy of the messages (so you have a record of what you said) so it is not necessary to add any recipients to the list if you only want to send the marker to yourself.
